It is difficult to make a real "enclosure" using the star point (4-4 point) -- invasions are always a threat.   Below are two common, 2-stone enclosures.

1) The Small Knight Enclosure (upper left)  [White Lives only in KO\]
2) The 1-Space Extension Enclosure ( bottom right)  [White Lives\]


This SGF with explores the 3-3 invasions of both enclosures.   Althought the 3-3 invasion for this enclosure is seldom the correct approach, there are times when it is the best move.  Whole board thinking dictates the choice.
